Tell us about your family: I married up...way up! LeAnn is my best friend and I love doing ministry with her. It is also amazing to me that there are three people walking this planet that call me Dad. It doesn’t get any better than that.
What do you do at AUMC? I am privileged to be the pastor here at AUMC. I get the opportunity to lead and work with a great staff as well as preach to great congregation.
What’s Your Favorite Restaurant? Outback, Monterrey, Bravos, Red Lobster, Quiznos
What’s on your iPod? A bunch of different podcasts (preaching, exercising, news commentary). Music: Contemporary Christian and the oldies from 60’s and 70’s.
What’s on Your Bookshelf? Right now...Everyone Communicates – Few Connect by John Maxwell, The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller. My next book will be The Reason for God also by Keller.
What’s Your Claim to Fame? I just finished my first Triathlon (barely)!
What do you do in your free time? I enjoy bike riding and walking with LeAnn and our dog Reggie. Watching sports, especially my daughter in volleyball, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. I also enjoy reading and playing with my iPhone.
Tell Us About Your Family: My husband Toran and I have one child, a busy boy named Christopher. What Do You Do At AUMC?: I am the Children’s Ministry Director What’s Your Favorite Restaurant? If I had to narrow it down to just one, I suppose it would be Chili’s. What’s On Your iPod? I may be the only person on the planet who doesn’t one one! But I love all kinds of music and would have a huge variety of Contemporary Christian, Alternative/Rock, R&B, Oldies, and Jazz.
What’s On Your Bookshelf? These days, my favorite bookshelf is my son’s. I enjoy reading books with him every night – old favorites by Dr. Seuss of course – and now he’s really into books about dinosaurs and other animals.
What’s Your Claim to Fame? In college I played both classical and jazz saxophone and got the privilege of playing with some amazingly talented musicians.
What Do You Do In Your Free Time? My ideal day is one where I can get up and make a big breakfast to enjoy with my family, hit the gym, and then spend the rest of the day with my son and husband just playing games and having fun together at home.
Tell us about your family: Char and I have celebrated over 30 years of marriage. We have two grown children, Chris and Anna Marie
What do I do at AUMC? I work with the Creative Arts Ministry and Pastoral Care
What’s Your Favorite Restaurant? We enjoy Jasmine’s on 8th Street What’s on your ipod? I am eclectic. I have Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Hillsongs, Hillsongs United, Casting Crowns, Passion, Michael W. Smith, Paul Baloche, Lincoln Brewster and more for the CCM side. On the classical side I have Jazz Suite and Viktor’s Song (The Terminator theme) done by clarinetist Clarence Padilla of Drake University and some symphonic things from Beethoven to Shostakovich. What’s on your bookshelf? Most of my books are at home on the bookshelf. The Bible is a great book that has left the bookshelf regularly. C.S. Lewis and Tolkien are interesting. I have several books on leadership and worship I have found helpful.
What’s Your claim to Fame? My claim to fame depends on where I am. Growing up I was the son of the choir director for the national radio broadcast called Revivaltime. When I sub at Southeast Polk many students know me as the piano teacher’s husband. What do you do in your free time? I enjoy bicyling, walking, spending time talking with family or creating an adventure, and of course the “Honey Do List”!
Tell us about your family: I have been married for 31 great years to my husband and best friend, John. I have three children – Jordan , Josiah and Hannah. Reggie, our dog, completes our family.

Financial Manager
Tell us about your family: I have 3 children and 10 grandchildren, 6 step-children and 6 step-grandchildren.
What do I do at AUMC? I am officially Financial Manager, Project Coordinator and Nursery Coordinator along with a variety of other fun jobs I get to do.
What’s Your Favorite Restaurant? Applebees’ or Bandannas—they are both top of my list.

I have met and talked with Dale Evans Rogers (wife of Roy Rogers, the famous cowboy of yesteryear) and Harold Hughes (former Governor of Iowa and Senator, now deceased) was my high school Sunday school teacher What do you do in your free time? When time and weather permit, I spend time with my children and grandchildren and my 98 year old Mom. I love to watch HGTV and read.

What’s Your Favorite Restaurant? I would have to say Olive Garden or Bravo Cucina. What’s On Your iPod? I am the proud owner of a brand spanking new HOT PINK Ipod nano! I have a little bit of everything on there-David Crowder, Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and the list goes on. What’s On Your Bookshelf? I am embarrassed to admit this but there aren’t any books on my bookshelf. It is loaded with photos of my family and other knick knacky type items.
What’s Your Claim to Fame? I don’t really have a claim to fame but I did meet someone famous once...Mario Lopez (AC Slater from Saved by the Bell) in Jr. High!
